wow about time you never know may see more battery powered cars that are worth buying, longer phone battery life etc. will it ever see the light of day i cant count the amount of world changing ideas i read every day then never here jack about.
Doesn't just have to be used for powering gadgets - could be used in so many more applications. Really glad Dyson took the lead for investing into these guys.
Well, this is one development route that has my full and unambiguous best wishes for success. Batteries have come quite a long way in recent years, but hopefully, still have a long way further to go, and being able to increase power 'density' (I.e. storage per unit weight) AND higher levels of current draw is close to battery nirvana for me.
Great, but I'm worried companies will see it as a way to make phones even thinner, rather than give us better battery life.

Or both.
But the potential for applications goes WAY beyond just phones. I have some uses that require not do much longevity of battery life, but a mix of duration coupled with high current draw, and burst rate. Also, I have a Dyson battery hand-vac with about 20-min battery life which isn't quite enough. 30 mins would be a huge benefit, and 40-45 plenty enough for me.
Meh, I still wish people wouldn't give nuclear energy options such hysterical treatment.

I eagerly await for a future powered by electric cars. Very high efficiency, very high reliability, no gears, no clutch, a ton of torque from zero RPM. Seriously, I can't wait!

As an electric 1 / 10 scale RCBuggy entusiast (Radio Control Models/Kit), I am very excited by this. I was expecting the next major leap to be biological batteries. This couldn be an important stepping stone to that technologyy
