Have they found someone from early 1990s and teleported them forward in time to write the specs? 1280x800 is NOT HD.

It is. HD is 720 lines or more.

1280x800 is a 16:10 WXGA screen

HD for computer monitors starts at 1360x768.

The last WXGA monitor I had I retired 3 years ago and used a VGA connector and I think I bought it 8-10 years before then
