I'm always amazed at how much of a cut the middle man can take in these sort of situations. 30% brings that £50 game down to a far more palatable £35, that has to hurt sales. And Steam must be raking it in - kudos to them for making their idea work, and popular - their overheads can't be that high.
Awesome.
Now both can be linked. well done frontier
It's only £39.99, both in the FD Store and on Steam. £50 is the physical disc version, I believe, from FD.
What I'd like to know is whether playing the game from Steam opens the ED Launcher and whether you can open/play ED without having to launch it from Steam in the first place.
I just bought this on steam the other day just for the convenience of having most of my games there. I feel kinda gutted now. I could've bought it straight from them, given them more money, and then got a free steam key to give to my friend. Dammit!!
hopefully things like voice-attack and trackir will work on steam?

1) Yes, accessing the game from Steam opens the ED launcher where you log in before the program runs.
2) Yes, if you link to the ED launcher executable from within the Steam Common Apps folder, then the game will launch the ED interface without needing Steam to be loaded in the background.
