    A second MVNO?

I assume they're avoiding the "TalkMobile" name, to avoid getting people confused with a TalkTalk service

Re: Carphone Warehouse iD mobile network launches tomorrow

Disappointing but the prices are ok. Just wish the lumia deal (The cheaper offer is of a Nokia Lumia 635 on a 24-month plan with 150 mins, 5000 texts and 250MB of data for £7.50 pm.) came without the phone and double the data (it could have less minutes too).

Was really hoping for the ability to pick x minutes, x texts and x Mbs for x... Guess I'll need to take a good look round when my current contract comes up in a few months as Sim only deals <£8 seem to be drying up.

Edit: Scrap that - just checked my 12 month deal is up. Have to look and see what I can find. Hopefully iD will have something useful as my old deal no longer exists (Thanks EE for ditching tmobile deals and pushing my current deal from £6.80 to £8 with half the data - 250Mb on 4G - Thanks for nothing)

talkmobile got 'sold off' to vodafone a while back (2011 iirc), yes I was surprised by that too (I'm with talkmobile). It's even more surprising when you consider the price difference between talkmobile and vodafone, not to mention talkmobile has support staff who can actually help you lol

Re: Carphone Warehouse iD mobile network launches tomorrow

Three- £22 a month for 600 mins unltd data and loads of useless texts........ This was a retention deal for a customer thats been with three since the start, not even 2000 3 to 3 mins they used to bundle. My dad was paying £13 a month for 500 mins unltd data, and 2000 3 to 3 mins. I was expecting a price increase but that much.....

Only reason my dad stuck with em was because they do have the best internet service around and my dad uses 20gig a month. He only took it out 2 days ago, so ill probably switch him over to iD £20 a month for unltd data and 2000 mins

Same experience here, I've been sim free for some time fortunately so will be sticking with my £11 unltd data 200 minute plan. Who even calls people? That said, the OH is looking for a new provider, so will be keeping an eye on this tomorrow.

I'm with talkmobile too, did not know they were owned by Vodafone? They are damn good too tbh had not trouble and got a decent smartphone for £7.50 a month.

Re: Carphone Warehouse iD mobile network launches tomorrow

Well that was a waste of time: http://www.idmobile.co.uk/shop/plans/sim-only

£10 minimum deal for a sim only plan if you want minutes... So much for a 'different' network. Guess I might as well stick with my current deal as I can't find anything close to it.

Re: Carphone Warehouse iD mobile network launches tomorrow

I'll soon be coming to the end of a 24 month contract and was hoping to go SIM only for 6-12 months to get my monies worth but I just can't find a SIM that will suit my overwhelmingly heavy data needs that won't also bloat me with a load of pointless minutes and texts. Looks like it'll be £20 a month for 3 but then I'm not exactly happy about that. Not really the value I was aiming for. My girlfriend has them locked in to a 1 month rolling contract from about a year and a half ago, all you can eat data, minutes and texts including using your phone as a hotspot for about £13. Every other month they raise it to £25, she rings and complains and they put it back down but it's a regular event.

3 aren't really what they used to be anymore and I can only feel these huge expansions in 4g are to blame for the price increase. In most places 3's great 3g signal beats out a lot of my friends 4g speeds so it's a shame to see 3 go this way.

They are apparently moving people out of contract to these new plans, they are phasing out the old ones. My dad had been out of contract since last November, and received a letter that he'd be being put onto a rolling 1 month 600 mins 1gb data for £14 a month from the 9th of May unless he called to sort out a "deal" . Deal was as above £22 600 mins ,unltd data 12 month contract. Ordered an ID sim for £20 a month 1 month rolling contract 2000 mins unltd data.

I am paying £11 a month for 500 mins, unltd data and 2000 3 to 3 mins, ive been out of contract for 2 months now . Hopefully they wont notice

Yeah they got bought out, I thought it said 2011 last time I checked but it's now saying it was done in 2015 so obviously just before iD was released.... I'm now waiting on price hikes etc lol
