2x USB 3.0 ports? For the receiver?
Also, the integrated headphones better be removable as I really dislike being forced to a specific set of cans and much rather use my own.
USB X 2 for power as well as controlling it perhaps? How many wires does this thing have? I imagine future models will be wireless but not this one...

Could very well be. Not sure on current wiring, though.
And I definitely would not use an Occulus if there were only wireless models. I like having constant power being fed to my devices and there's always the worry of added latency.
They need to stop talking about it and start realising the consumer version.
I had an original DK1, and this is certainly far higher posted requirements now than the original. The original had the headset, direct-connected to a controller box, which connected to the PC via USB and DVI cables, with a separate AC power cord. You could also connect with an HDMI or VGA adapter. Unless they've done some serious magic, there's no way that this is being powered by USB. Not at 5vdc and .9A.
Doesn't matter - the fact that Oculus used the Kickstarter to honeypot a sale to Facebook led me to selling the DK1 and never looking back. And the openly admitted walled garden is an absolute non-starter for me.
The DK2 also needs two USB ports, and it sucks a lot of power..I had to buy a powered USB hub to keep it happy and get the camera working.
The biggest problem imo will be PC spec. The DK2 only has a 1080p screen and whilst a 970 can comfortably run it in most scenarios, even a 970 cannot play Elite on high graphics with a rift. With my 960, I can only play on low if I want to hit the magic 70fps.
The CV1 has a QHD panel..that ups the resolution requirement significantly. You'll need a 980 or equivalent to get decent performance out of it. I expect there will be a lot of dissapointed/angry owners early next year!
That said, i'll be putting my name down nearer the time and will buy a new card just for this. The DK2 is absolutely amazing and it gets daily use..but with the improved display (no more visible pixels, yey!) there is enough of a reason to upgrade. It's worth paying virtually whatever they ask
Not just for VR porn, I promise (although it is rather amazing).
I'll wait for some reviews on this and the valve system before I commit then I'll buy one of them, at the start my 970 will have to be enough but I will be saving for a bigger GPU straight after I get my VR headset. Hopefully next year a GTX 1080 will be released or the AMD 300 series will blow away current Nvidia cards.
I recently had a DK2 and haven't had half the problems people have had with resolution etc, afterall it was only running at 1920x1080 split in two, it wasn't 2 x 1920x1080 which some people incorrectly reported. I was using it with a 7950 and for the most part it looked awesome and a great experience, but not for everyone and something I would suggest trying before buying where possible.
