Bring it into the domestic space. Having a TV that is a mirror when not in use is so much nicer that having a big black screen on the wall
Still early days. I imagine the price of this will be similar to the first 4k screens a few years back. Give this tech 3 years or so and it'll be priced nicely and manage much better colours.
I have to agree though, my immediate thought was how amazing it would be to have a mirror on the wall instead of a dull, black box on the wall when the TV is off. Might get annoying if someone wants to do their hair while GOT is on though.
Things like the news being in your bathroom mirror in the morning etc would be cool. Still have to run power wires absolutely everywhere though for stuff like this.

Get her a second TV in the bedroom, or as a cheaper option get a mirror for the bedroom, tell her it is a TV but that you cannot find the remote control!
....
Much like bezels, something like that should not even be a consideration when making a high-ticket purchase.
If people want their mirrors to be dual purpose, they already have that.......any smartphone with a front-facing camera. I really fail to see the point of a reflective screen, it sounds like a technical nightmare.

Discrete motorised pj screen please, not a 50" mirror for everyone to uncomfortably stare at each other sitting on the living room settee.
I just can't wait to be able to go to the toilet in some building and be bombarded with corporate or commercial advertising as I wash my hands. Whoopee! Life just gets better and better.
ok wheres the actual video footage? anyone can photoshop images onto mirrors.
Not sure how I feel about this new tech.
For it to be worthwhile (in value) I think the mirror version may be OK for a wall mounted TV as a mirror could look better than a big black screen. But with a caveat - I would prefer the mirror function to disappear whilst using it during normal TV viewing.
I can think of one good area they could be used - in cars for a heads-up display, as such it would have the ability to display anything from the basic instruments through to things like a see through GPS screen. Also be good for those driverless cars they are presently developing.
We will just have to wait and see how this technology develops, plus the price compared to better viewing experience ratio will have to be considered.
Still, it would definitely be a talking point in the house until everyone gets them.
