1080p,30fps. Soooooo next gen! Yawn... 1440p/4K now please! Oh and 60fps please, if not 144fps
30fps is fine for a non-action game.
However supporting unlimited frame rate on PCs means they've solved their issue with physics/animations timings that used to bug Bethsoft in other games.
Games really need to start including details about textures for PC games. It's all well and good having a game that can run at any resolution, but if the textures are the same crappy ones designed for the console then meh.
Just something simple like "optimized for 1440p" or "suitable for 4K" etc.
Its disappointing that this is unusual enough to be considered news tbh

I think it just re-affirms that for Todd Howard, the consoles are everything...
For you maybe. I can't handle playing pretty much anything at "30fps" (it's never a solid 30fps with consoles anyway. It's always some choppy crap). Especially when it's a 3D first/third person game like Fallout! It's not just about the fact that it looks like absolute crap and gives you massive input response lag, it's that it makes my eyes sore. I can play games on my pc for hours and hours if I want. As soon as I try and play my console, I'm lucky to get an hour before my eyes are screwed and I need a break.
"30fps" is an absolute shame for this generation of consoles (as it was for the last). Majorly disappointed with them. My ps4 only gets turned on to play a few console exclusives and occasionally to watch stuff on Netflix. I'm not bashing Fallout 4 specifically for this, as it's a widespread problem with the majority of console games! But I would rather have at least 60fps than mod support if I were playing this on console (luckily I'll have both on pc!). I think a lot of console-only gamers don't know what they're missing and would prefer 60+fps if they got to experience it more. I wonder why Call of Duty on consoles is so successful... I think that framerate probably has a lot to do with it..
It's so sad, that beeing able to run a game at varying resolutions and with unlimited fps nowadays can be announced as a "feature"...

If 30fps hurts your eyes then I'd get them checked out - remember the refresh rate is the same (for most monitors) regardless of fps, so your eyes are seeing the same kind of light regardless of fps.
I agree with what you're saying about input lag, which is why I find it's not OK for action games, but for an RPS I don't usually find it bothers me because there's nothing that needs a quick reaction.
I couldn't play it on a console, but that's because I can't aim using controllers

So it'll run at native res on my future 1600000x1200000 display at 60fps. Quite an achievement!
