Can't see Zen being an option as rumours point to a 2016 release, would be nice to be wrong though.
Allowing people the option of what CPU they want to use is a good move and I'm sure the Zen chip will be an option at some point.
Fair enough. Though it would be nice if people wanted an Amd cpu in there eh! Make it happen please
WHAT SO EVER - im loving its new PC form!!!
Excuse me if this is a thick question.....
But, why would someone **want** an AMD CPU in there?
Shirly, there is not point in the AMD CPU line that comes close to competing against Intel....at any price point.
Am i wrong?

I think you are wrong to be fair. AMD have some very well priced parts that beat Intel in some areas. The problem is if you are looking at the very high end enthusiast market like this system seems to aiming at then using an overclocked Devils Canyon i7 with a Z97 motherboard is the way to go.
The whole statement smacks of spin... someone messed up by allowing journalists to see the Intel chip, now they are trying to cover up that Intel (at this moment) make the better chips (for this segment) with a lower TDP than AMD themselves do.
"considered to be the pinnacle of desirability right now" - must have been killing them to write that!
I'd be much more willing to have believed this business of 'giving consumers choice' if they'd have advertised this from the start.

I don't think thats the case to be honest. Recognising the demand for the Intel chip and actively advertising for Intel at no cost are two completely different things.
If people are looking to spend this amount of cash I'm sure they will know exactly what CPU the system is fitted with, and sure the people within AMD understand the demand.
the biggest problem is that the FX series are a decent enough CPU, their performance came at a significant problem - power consumption. in Cinebench R15 Single thread performance the FX 9590 (TDP 225W) was beaten by the i5-4690 (TDP 84W) 110 points to 154, however in performance\$ AMD wins
To be fair, if Intel did factory overclock parts (which is what the 9590 is let's face it) then the TDP would be mental on that as well because that is what happens when you put the volts up.
The real problem here is that FX is just getting old. Mine has been stonking, but I probably wouldn't buy one now unless I was on a very tight budget.
