So, this is pretty much analogous to CS:GO's Operations (currently Bloodhound)? I hope TF2 players get more for their buck...
I think these days most of the enjoyment from TF2 comes from the server communities rather than specific updates from Valve. Especially when updates have been far between and rather mixed when it comes to the amount of content. Though I've got to say with this update, it simply looks like some added side missions to keep an eye on when playing and you'll get some new skins for the same tired old weapons. I'd be interested to see what the take up is on the price.
I just don't get it, this whole 'season pass' thing. Why on earth would I pay for a limited time gaming?? No. Stop it.
They are not season passes. In fact it is really hard to explain why would you buy these things. So that's why they use words like "campaign" and "pass" to get people thinking there is actual content. But there is no extra content other that increased chance of weapon skins, which ARE FREE anyway, just lower rate - you get less if you don't pay. What these are, are achievements or stat tracking (kill x people in server, backstab x people in server). And at the completion of each stat which they call "missions?!" you get a skin drop. Even though you still get drops for free, just randomly.
Think of it as Battlefields crates, which you can buy and get random stuff, or wait for free ones... Both have same weapon drop content, both don't offer any additional game content.

Yet some people still spend a lot of money for them.
Maybe I'm so miserly and old that I just don't see the attraction of spending RL money on something that makes an avatar look unique in a virtual world.
Trouble is, you don't get a higher drop rate anymore if you pay for the pass, I'm sure it's increased in price from a few missions ago.
My experience of the latest operation has been pay = reveive less, if you check the forums, this seems to be the case for everyone, people stating that it's the new model.
