This seems to be an unfortunately timed product. With USB-C and USB 3.1 about to come into the mainstream (e.g. included in Intel's 100-platform due out in a week), a USB-A only product is going to be pretty outdated pretty quick.

USB-A cannot charge laptops and will introduce some display lag - fine for office applications but unusable for gaming - while the already-available USB-C not only provides power but native PCIe and/or DisplayPort eliminating display lag entirely.

That's perfect timing this appearing here today, as I salvaged my old laptop screen the other day and have been struggling to think of an attractive way to have it sit nicely. It's way too pricey for me but at least I know stuff like this is on the market now.

Makes more sense to me than a lot of monitors with usb ports and headphone ports on the actual monitor. Just leads to a mass of cables. The monitor and base can be upgraded seperatly as well.

Not really for me as I am a desktop guy.
