Pre-Order, Pre-Order, Pre-Order.... Exclusive content, Exclusive content and so on and so forth.

I know many people will just find my opinion pointless but surely we have had enough evidence by now from the games industry that pre-ordering only serves to hurt the consumer.

Im sure some of these games will be ok but im also betting a large % will not be and probably a couple wont even look like they do in these trailers, even tho you will be pre ordering based on them

Pre-ordering helps a studio know how popular a game will be, so they know how many resources they can put into development etc.

I hope this becomes a trend.

It helped me catch on the trailers I missed without hearing about how many consoles were sold or how companies "really listen" to the average gamer.

If that were truly the case they would not need to offer "extra missions" or "special battle command ships" to those who pre-order, its a lay over from history where getting a physical copy to a brick and mortar store was not always possible and so pre-ordering was a way to make sure you got the game on day one... its mutated into this horrible thing we have today. Not to mention that most evidence suggests that not to be the case, im pretty sure Batman had a few pre orders along with AC titles and yet surprisingly they seemed to lack effort or even quality control on release.

Totally agree. The amount of day one game breaking bugs reported mean that I have totally lost faith in AAA publishers ability to give me a good experience. I often find that trailers do not live up to expectations and as a result have changed my buying habits. Pre-order extra content actually puts me off ever owning that game since I know that I am buying less of a game later on. I know that "you pays your money, you takes your chance", but I'd rather wait and read reviews & see actual game play footage over the released snipits designed to show the best of the game off.

Battlefront & Assassins creed catches my eye.
    Unravel looks very good too
The more one seeks, the more one finds and so you realise there is a lot more to be found.

Battlefront will be ordering, also Anno but when it comes down in price, Mafia III looked good.
