You didn't mention how the handles felt with a machine built into it. Looks like a good effort. But I'd probably stick with Fractal's Define series.

Yeah +1, sometimes a standoff could be in the wrong place and cause a short. Putting them in yourself only leaves user error.

Definitely prefer the minimal design of fractal cases but the rad support never seems to be thought out. I got an r4 with a 240 rad in the top but hate the space it leaves around it open to dust getting in.
Managed to fit a black dust filter in between which looks miles better, but it was a absolute bitch to get in place.

    Re: Cooler Master MasterCase 5

I was haveing problems deciding between the Fractal Design Define R5 VS the NZXT H440W Silent Ultra and now for the first time ever Cooler Master actually have a case that is both estetic and usefull... might have to consider it.

    Re: Cooler Master MasterCase 5

There is no point selling a modular case unless you can go to a website and pick'n'mix the modules you want. A system like this would allow me to buy coloured fans or windowed sides without having to bin the old ones when I order new modules.

Currently I have a CM690ii which I'm very pleased with, will probably just CM690iii for the next build cheaper than this new one and shed loads of bays for drives.

    Re: Cooler Master MasterCase 5

Price looks a lot more reasonable than I was expecting, however the case really doesn't tick the right boxes for me.

If Coolermaster could just modernise the stacker STC-101 design it would be much better in my opinion. Top, Bottom or dual PSU mounting support, flexible number of HDD mounts or external drive bays.

In terms of modernisations, just add space to mount some SSD's behind the motherboard and cable management points, the option to mount watercooling at the top and bottom either with or instead of PSU's (size dependent) or at the front, and the flexibility to remove the 5.25 bay runners in sections when not needed, and you're pretty much there.

In terms of customisation you then have great flexibility of how you want to layout your case, and options such as bay converters, cosmetic front-bezel or door, carrying handles and feet should you want to customise further.
