Origin? Christ on a bike, I'm not playing anything on that crappy platform ever again.
Am I misreading this; Offline mode and couch co-op? I thought EA had scrapped these modes in favour for online only?
Also, I guess they still don't have a campaign mode, or is that the expected Day 1 DLC?
People still complaining about a piece of software that works perfectly fine?
No, it ain't as feature-rich as Steam but it performs its job fine.
As for SW:BF - Wahoo! Can't wait....although also got the Rainbow 6 siege beta this month.....from uPlay - now there's a DDP to complain about!

I think the problem is a lot of people have had a lot of issues with Origin and Uplay.
Origin has come in massively as of late and the only bad thing I have to say about it now is for some reason my install has a little bug were it won't remember my password and therefore won't auto log me in on launch, but it's hardly a game breaker!
UPlay on the other hand is nothing but a bag of evil nasty bugs for me.
Your mileage may vary of course.
Steam - ReapedYou - Feel free to add me!!
Is Battlefront still using Mantle? Can't wait to play this.
Managing multiple lists of friends, some of whom have different names between platforms, is always a pain in the bum. On top of that, EA dropped the ball massively with BF3 and BF4, and they simply weren't worth installing Origin for - nothing like the quality of their previous efforts in the series. My friends tell me that the bugs in BF4 have been ironed out, but it still got huge obfuscation issues as far as I'm concerned.
I don't want to have 3 different games platforms running on my system, so I don't, and won't buy any games on the others as a result. Mind you, I'm the sort of person who has a list of products NOT to buy because I've seen adverts for them. I hate adverts.
I will, however, happily spend money on good games and good products to support companies who try do the right thing. There are some excellent games developers out there - one shining example would be Unknown Worlds Entertainment - but there are plenty more. These are the companies about whose games I can get excited, not the so-called 'AAA' titles which tend to be at least as buggy, and overpriced to boot, with comparatively little ongoing support.
Steam was a shocking mess when it started, although GameSpy was about 4000x worse again, so it could at least do something better than the competition. Origin offers me nothing - no games that are worth playing, the headache of finding all my friends on a second platform, and yet another program to have running and updating constantly. Honestly, if they don't want to go through Steam (and I understand why that legitimately might be the case), I would rather have NO equivalent DRM system than a steam-a-like. It makes for a very unsatisfactory user experience.
No dedicated servers?
I hope for EA's sake they've bought triple, no quadruple their normal bandwidth levels and speeds or else Origin is going to go belly up under the demand come Star Wars launch day.

Great news re. both SWBF and RA2 - so many great memories with the latter, can't wait to build up a Prism Tank brigade
Also Origin is great - I have no issue with it, Battle.net or Steam. Remember we need competition to drive innovation; it's no good if Valve dominates everything!
UPlay on the other hand... I have no SFW vocabulary to describe it...
I've had no problems with Origin and they seem to give more games away for free than Steam does. They may not be any good, but they're free!
I really want to play Battlefront now
Origin works fine here - They just usually have naff-all I want to play beyond Dragon Age and Mass Effect...
I kinda have to get SW Battlefront, though. If I don't, I'll lose all of my friends and even my wife might divorce me!!
