Re: AMD launches PRO A-Series processors for businesses

It is also the first mobile processor from AMD with 12 compute cores (4 CPU + 8 GPU) and Radeon R7 graphics
My wife's FX-7600p would like to have a word with you about that.... it might be the first that runs up to 800MHz on the graphics core, but the 4+8 core layout is old news.

Incidentally, looking at the AMD website there appears to be a consumer-oriented FX-8800P with the same specs as the A12 - hunting around the net that was announced a couple of months ago. Not that you acn actually buy products with it in yet, of course: as usual AMD's failure to get high volume design wins is likely to relegate a decent chip to a footnote on the path to Zen....

Luckily HP announced some business laptops using these new AMD APUs today as well. They look alright, apart from the ridiculously out of date trackpad setup.

Re: AMD launches PRO A-Series processors for businesses

I've been REALLY disapointed about AMD product's quality these days. I repair computers for a living whenever I see a laptop walking trough the door with a AMD CPU, right away I know the problem is an AMD Chipset problem! It's mathematical... And those "APU" performance? Worst than a 2008 Core 2 Duo... hell, worst than a Dual core Celeron...

They should be ashamed of allowing "APU" on anything other than netbooks... THEY SUCK on performance... nobody cares about a good graphics capability if the computer, even with a SSD and 8GB of ram, can't play a god damn HD movie in youtube and work in a spreadsheet in Excel without hiccups in the music in background...

AMD products lately? only graphics cards... and even then...

Reliable computing for business for a premium or subpar reliability and hardware for consumers. No thanks. Time to rewrite software for other platforms.

Your link kicks over to a valid item, but in all fairness, you failed to note that it was a Best Buy exclusive, and you are on a Euro-centric forum based in the UK - and Best Buy ceased operation in the UK almost 3 years ago... and more than 1/2 the reviews say this 2-in-1 is anything but a best buy...

You sir are winy, i am a servicer too, old amd products that are not apu had these problems, but apus are other story and complaining for HD videos is also false, any apu even bobcat cores can play flawlessly hd content. Old athlon and turion they have problems but they are core 2 era. Just blaming and not bringing facts thats low. Have you installed graphics drivers before playing HD content? Probably you don't do your job well.

Another fraudulent intel fanboy post. You guys have no integrity. Just back-biting and hurling false accusations all the time. I have had intel cpu's for 8 years and those things used to crash like a cancer patient all the time. My FX9590 hasn't crashed even once!.
