How can they be making a profit on these products? It seems too good to be true.

They are sold in china only at those listed prices - the conversion they have used they is a direct conversion - I tried to get the Redmi Note 2 last time around and had to get through a 3rd party Chinese seller which I wasn't too keen but for those prices you might as well.

I have since opted for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 due to the SD card expand-ability.

If int he future Xiaomi add this feature I will likely get a Xiaomi Note when the Note 4 dies/laggs

Unhappy Re: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 phablet and Mi Pad 2 tablet launched

Bit disappointed with the tablet using the hot-running Intel cpu, also only 2GiBs and (according to Mike Cane: https://mikecanex.wordpress.com/2015...ebrating-what/) no MicroSD.

Was hoping for Nvidia X1 and more RAM etc... even the phone gets more memory, strangely

Smile Re: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 phablet and Mi Pad 2 tablet launched

Having trouble understanding why the phone manufacturers are removing the micro SD slot. Are they trying to copy the stupid apple phone (only referring to them refusing to have a memory card slot)
I have my own cloud service, but still prefer to move stuff (movies, TV recordings, music, et cetera) onto my phone via a memory card. This way I can load up a couple of 128GB or 64GB cards for a trip (been in and out of hospital a lot and it was very handy for entertainment during my weeks in hospital) and they take up virtually no space. At least "the new device sports a USB Type-C port" (just no mention of what speed) which is much better than Samsung's stupid new supposedly high tech S6 range which only has USB 2.0 - sooo useless and slow for large files and recharging. If they remove the memory card, they should have a thunderbolt 3/ USB 3.1 type "C" port to move things around quickly and for recharging.
PS - tried to be unbiased and called both phones stupid :-)
