If I'd have just bought the non 'Alpha' Z170 Hero board, I'd be feeling rather annoyed right now.
That would be me lol bought it 5 days ago. I would be if the alpha wasn't going on sale for £235... The hero came to £160 shipped so I can live with that.
"significant" would've been if they had side inputs for that 24 & 8pin delivery... ;-) that aside, I'm a long time fan of ASUS... (TUF/X58 with an i7 XEON 5670 hexcore & loved)
The suggested retail price is £235 and availability is hopefully by the end of this month

Calling a version 2 "Alpha", dear me.
I wouldn't buy most of the ROG boards now. I really hate all that awful plastic over the heatsinks and down the side of the board and think it looks extremely tacky. My Hero VI has none at all. Just a tasteful amount of red paint mixed in with the black pcb and heatsinks. Unfortunately with the release of Z170 it would appear that many manufacturers have lavished plastic shrouds throughout their range of boards.
