If this was being made by pretty much any other publisher I'd maybe think about buying at launch. As it's UbiSh** however I'll wait until Uplay dies and it's up on a Steam Sale instead.
I mistakenly bought the Tom Clancy Humble Bundle a short while ago. Why was it a mistake? Because it requires uplay.
I haven't used it in a while, but when I did it crashed, failed to load and failed to detect achievements/settings etc.
I really hope it dies soon.
Can't say I've had any problems with Uplay in the 18 months or so I've used it. Not a regular user over that time but found it to work reliably, even if it is a bit basic.
Tried watching a few of the Alpha leaks for The Division. All I could think of while watching was these newbies are why we have NDA's. Terrible players who have no idea how to play aren't a good introduction to the game for others. Trying to learn anything about the game from someone who complains about the guns and doesn't even reload between fights is impossible. To be honest I'm glad Youtube took them down.
CDKeys.com had this for pre-order on PC for £20. I think it's now gone up to £23, but still much cheaper than the Uplay shop

Looks interesting still, I believe they've dropped the drone option for an extra player on tablet/phone though?
this is one of those games that looks great in everything they have previewed, but im waiting for it to be out and played for a bit. It could get very repetitive or be very buggy being an ubi game
Has anyone here played the beta yet?
I've played it for a few hours and have been pleasantly surprised how much I liked it (at least the single player part of it). I have yet to enter the dark zone (the PVP area) and wonder if that will change my perceptions a bit. I have heard reports of griefing.
Graphically it really taxes my R280X - to get it to run at a consistent 60fps for 1080p I've had to dial down quite a number of settings (but it still looks very nice).
Played the beta on PS4, really really enjoyed it!
As for the dark zones, I can see how the griefing comes about. But when you go rogue, you light up like a Xmas Trees to all other non-hostile agents.
Bearing in mind, it's a beta, gives Ubi data to collect and work on. They got the game right, hopefully they balance out the game mechanics abit, maybe perhaps insert defence turrents at Dark Zone checkpoints to HELP eliminate rogue agents? And implement checkpoints for Rogue Agents and one for NON Rogue agents? Just a thought.
I played it for a few hours...
The graphics are unsurpassed IMO. Absolutely breath-taking visuals and the sound is excellent as well, so atmospheric.
But currently SLI and CFX are both broken in the game, which is worrying as the hardware requirements are HUGE and it's Ubisoft.....the Ubisoft that stated they wanted to "use the full capabilities" of every system they release the game on......the same Ubi that have a bad track record or releasing buggy titles and taking forever to fix them.
I pretty much did everything that I could outside of the dark zone (PvP)....and by the end of it was a bit underwhelmed by the gameplay. It looks like a case of style over substance :S Maybe the dark zone is awesome but from what I have read about the mechanics, it's just a griefer zone and people will grow tiresome of the RvR of questing there.
