I'm glad I didn't sign up for the monthly bundle thing, I already have Alien Isolation & Spelunky. This is a consecutive month where i've already owned a few of the games in the bundle.
To sum up I'd only think these monthly bundles would only be worthwhile to somebody who likes surprises and loves all genre's of game, and somebody who has very few games in their library. Thinking about that it seems unlikely many would fit that criteria ! I guess another alternative could be somebody with too much money who gets off on forking out money to charities just to act smug at any given opportunity.
I cancelled my sub before this one luckily. But my reason was that the main "draw" game was always used as the incentive for the following month.
Also, I owned a few of the previous games too so it wasn't worth the blind risk any more.
Annoyingly I've quite wanted some games in the last two bundles but I won't risk it. $12 is roughly my monthly gaming budget currently and I'm not going to risk having a month with no new games I don't want. I hope humblebundle drop this idea soon - if these would have been regular bundles then they would have had my cash... As it is they get nothing.
Subscription based defeats the whole idea of Humble Bundle.
Exactly this. Although the bundles work to their advantage (like Groupees) the can deceive users, and tailor a bundle depending on if their sales quota has been met or not, essentially filling with rubbish.
I garuantee if these had of been actual bundles sales woukd have been higher
