It's hard enough to get 80 Plus Platinum rated supplies under 1000W so to see a Titanium one as low as 600W is superb. If only this were available three months ago, when I just bought a replacement PSU. Sadly, my average rate of PSU purchases is once per five years...
I don't want japanese caps. I want correctly spec'ed ones for the job at hand.

The RealHardTech X PSU review databse has the OEM as Sirtec although I have no idea where they fall in the manufacturing reputation foodchain. They also record that the Titanium Cert. is still pending.
Must admit though the dimensions would be good for my case though but I wonder what the detrimental effects on making PSUs smaller but with higher load capabilities will be?

Well that's where the efficiency increases come in. Heat only gets produced due to wasted power.
Well, the 800W version still has to dissipate around 80W in a worst case scenario. Making it smaller means less space for heat transfer. Shouldn't be a problem if all the parts are high quality and rated for high temperatures. But they are probably using parts that aren't rated high enough, which will reduce the lifetime in the end. We will have to wait for someone to tear it down.
In the case of PSUs: realiability, cost and noise, pick two out of three.
Just a shame that the single most important component in any computer is often the <cheapest> one.

it just don't matter about plat tit or any other rating .. will it save you over £20 in the life of the psu .. prob not
but the caps and wiring will do if there good stops it from blowing up and taking the rest of the pc with it ...

The Japanese capacitor thing has its roots in fact from the capacitor plague, and even now it's not nonsense as the common Japanese capacitor brands used in PSU are considered amongst the highest quality for the role. Whether it's still worthy of a marketing point is a matter for debate, but it's not nothing, and far more irrelevant things are routinely used as marketing fluff.
Sure, it's no longer the case that certain brands of capacitor are falling over frequently, but what's the problem with using higher-quality components and then marketing the fact? Of course there are more important, often un-marketed points in play. But even 80Plus is often of dubious value considering its testing specs often exclude the real idle draw of PCs they will be used in, and it's pretty much orthogonal with quality (though it's unlikely a gold/platinum/titanium supply will be terrible).

Not holding much hope for these. Sirtec is the OEM and they make the Strider Platinum and most of the Strider Gold S series both of which only got mediocre reviews (7/10-8/10). With the choice available these days there is little reason to buy any psu that scores less than 9/10.
Yeah I was half expecting them to use Enhance for this line as they use them for some other stuff. I get what you mean though, there are an awful lot of very good quality power supplies out there now.

The Realhardtech psu database has been updated and it now list's the oem as Enhance so they could be good units after all. Just have to wait for reviews now.
I see there are some new Enhance built Strider Platinum units (850/1000/1200w) on the way as well.
