Seems rather high from the video I saw, it (rather disapointingly) looked like Quake to me :S

Yep, my thoughts, its what I expected, and they are quite high.
Very, very Quake-like really, but not surprising in that way
I am looking forward to Doom campaign, but I have a feeling that the MP mode is going to be way too manic for my liking... I'm too rubbish to keep up with that
Can't wait for this! I'm still running two 670's in my 3770k rig, so hopefully they'll just about manage it on 1080. If not, it looks like I'll be forking out for a 970.
<reads spec>
Well, that's me out, then.
I hadn't thought of the first option, as TFTs look horrible below native resolution I turn other graphics options down rather than do that. I can't believe there are people out there with 720p screens though. Even bargain basement laptops & ancient CRTs do better than that.
The recommended specs are steep but not surprising; I just wish the game didn't require a Steam account.
A man must have code -Bunk
I'd say the vast majority of laptops sold have 720p (1366x768) screens (unfortunately)! Just a quick look at ebuyer shows that the cheapest Windows laptop > 720p is a 17" model with a 1600x900 screen for £423.99, but that's still not 1080p. I don't have numbers to back it up, but I suspect <£400 laptops are by far the lions share of the market, certainly for domestic use.
I'm getting worried about CPU demands, it seems like even minimum settings require 4 cores and quite fast MHz at that to boot. The issue here is that the 2400, 3330, 3450, 4430, etc.. have all similar performance even though its generations of difference. The performance in games in very small, at best (discounting for MHz) is about 1% to 2% more, so if you are gaming on the mid range CPU's even on newer generation its already basically barely enough it seems.
I think my bro might be a little disappointed. He is looking forward to this and his rig might not be up to it. He just upgraded is HD 7850 to a GTX 750.
Looking forward to this. It's my yoof !
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
