Sounds like some price gouging right there. Will stick to a desktop and save myself a fortune. Laptop gaming seems overly expensive.
Ouch - that is a lot. Is the PSU separate as well?
hmmm, by the time you buy a compatible laptop, a Razor Core and the relevant GFX card, that's got to be close to a reasonable Gaming laptop which may not be as good as the Core-combo overall perhaps, but much more portable in all.

$499 is the cost of a GTX-980 card.
Hmm, so PSVR is more than a PS4? Hopefully they might bundle No Man's Sky for same price at some point. I doubt I'm going to buy psvr day one,might wait a bit or buy on Black Friday etc.
As it's backed by amd hopefully more companies will support the standard and there'll be more competitive prices.
Anyone know how thunderbolt 3 performs, will there be any lag compared to a pcie interface?
Re Razer Core. ~£415 after VAT for a small case, PSU and a 'dumb' motherboard with a PCI-E and Thunderbolt connector on? I guess there isn't a market to compete in so well done for being first to market, but as you still need to drop in a GPU and have a compatible laptop I think I'll just be buying desktops for a while.
The only thing saving the Core somewhat is the $100 credit offer for the Stealth. But they don't even offer that for the actual Blade, and the Stealth is just too small for my taste. Here's a quick run-down:
$1100: A capable GTX-980-powered desktop (via Logical Increments).
$1000: A capable ultrabook.
$400: Keyboard/screen/mouse.
~$2500 for a full laptop/desktop setup.
$1000: The minimum Core-Compatible laptop (minus the XPS 13 on sale on Pi Day)
$500: Core.
$500: 980.
(optional) $400: keyboard/screen/mouse.
So it really comes out to being the same, but you do get some more portability. Problem is, very few gamers will go for the Stealth, instead opting for the full-up Blade or XPS 15, adding ~$800-$1000 to that. Comes down to preference really.
Overall, I do see this as the future of gaming. Once more companies come out with competing models, the price will come down. If money was no object, I'd personally opt for a Core setup myself.
By the time you have spent money on a razer blade and the core, you could just build a super powered desktop and still have money left over to buy a more affordable, yet equally powerful gaming laptop.
Wow the pricing for the PSVR is much more expensive than I expected..not that much cheaper than a rift or vive and certainly not "Significantly" cheaper as Sony had claimed. Add to that and a delayed launch, doesn't look great for it
$500 for what is essentially a £50 PC case, £30 SFX PSU (I'm guessing), and a £30 PE4L type PCIE to Thunderbolt interface.
Should be £150 Maximum. Its not like they had any real R&D costs as the technology was already existing!
