    I've got to wonder why youtube is on the white list? Shouldn't google have forced everyone using their browser on their site over? Its not like HTML5 will struggle on it...

    Re: Google Chrome Browser to implement 'HTML5 by Default'

    Browser plugins that enable code execution (JS, Java, flash etc) should be run in a sandbox where:
    1) interaction with the browser/OS/files are limited and support blank responses and null writes (gatekeeper resticts access but doesn't freeze/crash plugin when access is denied);
    2) CPU can be restricted, rationed or delayed without blocking the rest of the page from rendering;
    3) Memory access is limited to itself and illegal memory access is blocked.

    Browsers should also try to reduce the frequent re-render requests that occur when switchings applications, resizing and changing tabs. Please delay or allow me to fully refresh only when I ask for it.

    Youtube flash version can have GPU accelerated playback, the HTML5 version can't.

    This is the difference between my laptop being able to play back 1080p video without issue or stuttering like crazy with 480p HTML5 video at 100% CPU usage...

    So there are good reasons for not forcibly moving people off flash yet...
