£630! Thanks but not for me
On other hand same price but with custom water cooling full cover block and I might be interested
Why is the TitanX not listed in the benchmarks?
A bit disappointing on the noise front if I'm honest. Good job they stuck with the 8 pin- can you imagine the racket it would make to cool things down if you put a bit more oomph in the power!
I would really love to see how the GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme WaterForce performs (pretty pretty please). With all this downtime waiting for stock to appear I'm doing stupid things like considering this to throw my hard earned money at.
I don't think there's enough difference between most of the figures appearing in reviews to really sway me one way or another, but noise is something I consider important for my needs so would like to see if just 1 rad with fan is enough to manage the heat with no onboard fans.
Can I ask where you are getting your prices from for all of the AIC 1080 boards?
They seem wildly out from the actual retail prices (and RRPs) - although I accept that the retail prices are varying immensely at the moment. The G1 Gaming RRP was £559.99 until the supply shortages upped it to £619 and you have it listed at £630 RRP, but your other AIC reviews have similarly out of touch pricing with some cards listed at under £600, when all the retailers list them at £620+
Not that it's a big issue, but i would be curious where the pricing comes from
I'm more and more relieved every day that I bought a FE card for £619 - all the worthwhile AICs seem to be more than that, and since I am seeing good temps and no noise from my FE card I don't regret it in the slightest
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW GAMING ACX 3.0 (Manufacturer Code: 08G-P4-6286-KR)
Ebuyer: £599.99
Overclockers: £619.99
Scan: £641.39
That's a pretty shocking variance between retailers
lol Scan are notorious price gougers. But they're also the most reliable when it comes to having stock in, so the devil you know and all that
Just be aware of how difficult it is and how long it takes Scan to replace graphics cards still under warranty. They are notoriously bad with RMA. Still waiting a month later for them to replace mine, no correspondence from them, ignoring emails and calls.
Overclockers aren't much better.
I wish manufacturers would just let us buy direct from them, cut out all these rubbish retailers anyway.
That or provide more stock to Amazon.
Even if I wanted this card in the review, nowhere has it for sale and when they do put it up for sale, yeah for sure there will be price gauging from the usual stock of retailers.
Nvidia please, give Amazon more stock to sell before these price gauging trash retailers, who go out of their way to avoid customer support when things go wrong.
OH MY GOD!!!
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Edition (GV-N1080XTREME-8GD)
Overclockers: £659.99
Lambada Tek: £975.59
Seeing that my well OCing 980Ti MSI 6G is almost matching OCd 1080s on benchmarks, I believe the course of action is watching ebay to get another one (seeing them going for around 400€ these days, even found a brand new one for 440€). Have plenty of PSU and just need to add some more fans to the case. GPU power wise, Pascal is far off the miracle we expected, but when you take into account graphics power vs power usage it is great indeed. None of this would be necessary but I'm on 3440x1440@75Hz and a single 980Ti is definitely not enough for ultra in some games. Even my heavily OCd 980Ti doesn't average 60fps at this resolution with everything maxed in The Division (gets around 50ish FPS until a turn down a notch or two).
Also, 1080 doesn't seem to be the best of overclockers, from what I see. There is zero reason for 980Ti to 1080 upgrades unles those 60-70w less are a game changer in one's particular case or situation.
I bought one of these (as they didn't have the one I was after in stock), I was concerned with the temperature - The hottest it gets is about 75oC playing World of Warcraft of all things! Less hot playing the latest Deus Ex game heh.
