Well as I have a 480 Sapphire Nitro on preorder this is quite interesting. I wonder if its 4gb model they are comparing and also what driver version? I'd also be interested to see how expensive it is... I've got 10 days or so to cancel the preorder so I should have time to tell.

Unless they're planning on selling it at pretty much the same cost as the RX480 it's not going to do as well as they hope. From what I've seen the AIB cards will have roughly a 7% performance increase over the stock cards so the 10% increase seen here in the 1060 isn't something to write home about although to be fair it will probably use half the energy.

There is another leak where RX 480 clocked at 1500Mhz has graphic score of 15363 in the same benchmark (FireStrike) as presented card. So with lower freq (and no boost used!) its actually faster.
Not to mention it has more VRam.

Its just nVidia PR working hard as usual...

If you're talking about this video or similar OC speeds i wouldn't get your hopes up, while 1.5Ghz maybe achievable on some cards it seems that's only when the card is water cooled and even then it's touch and go on stability.

The Sapphire Nitro RX480 is meant to run at 1.325GHZ/1.35GHZ using a fairly standard sized cooler.

Having said that after having a GTX660 and GTX960,I will be a bit more careful now when I make my next purchase.

But with better power regulation and an 8 pin or pair of 6 pin power connectors it should be more stable, so those figures might be possible out of the box. Or they might not, guess we find out in a couple of weeks

Sounds like the 960 was a bit of a bargain though, so I don't think you lost out there.

It was a decent price but the R9 380 is starting to pull ahead massively in some games - wanted to try The Division out and the GTX960 kind of does very poorly in it and it is Nvidia sponsored. The R9 380 also does better at higher resolutions.

Both the GTX660 and GTX960 looked quite decent against the HD7870 and R9 380 when they were released,but have fallen behind more and more. I do need an upgrade in the next six months or so,but it worries me that even if a GTX1060 looks good against an RX480 now,whether that will be the case in say 12 months time. Pascal seems to have been rushed into production as a stop-gap since Maxwell was meant to be replaced by Volta which was pushed back. Pascal looks more like Maxwell with some quick fixes and higher clockspeeds. Now if I got one a decent amount cheaper than the equivalent AMD card that would be fine,but if not I would have to careful in what I purchase.
