I find it hard to believe John Carmack had to google how to wipe a hard drive.

Re: Zenimax wins $500 million infringement case against Oculus

If oculus gets blocked from selling more headsets in the future then I hope this moves VR towards a more open standard way of implementing VR features into games, so that more companies can start pushing cheaper headsets for PC's.

Re: Zenimax wins $500 million infringement case against Oculus

Maybe Sony could enable PSVR for PC too and cash in on the lower end of the VR market? Certainly worth doing if Oculus Rift gets pulled from the market.

Look how long it took them to make their pads PC compatible.....I wouldn't hold your breath....and PSVR is not remotely in the same experience bracket as Vive or even Rift+LMC.

I still find VR without roomscale to be gimmicky at best and sickening otherwise.

Nothing to stop Zenimax funding Bethesda to get on with Elder Scrolls 6 now...

Maybe you're right, but PSVR is pretty competitive price wise if it does get PC support, significantly cheaper than Oculus Rift and less half the price of the HTC Vive.. I can imagine PSVR falling to below £300 this year too.

I was thinking the same thing. Surely man capable of all they are accusing him of would be more aware on how to wipe a hard drive.

If it's not Zenimax's "secrets" then why did the win the infringement case?

Do you actually think before you post?

they did'nt, you can code c++ a 100 different ways, and only 1 of them will be fast, if carmack already coded all the rendering code, and got a game running smooth, hes not going to code it any different

You have missed your vocation - the State of Texas' judicial system would surlely welcome you with your ability to sum up a case without hearing any submissions, or hearing the evidence.

it was all made public while it was happening in quakelive`s irc channel and other websites id post on, its goes along the lines of, it took carmack a few days to get doom 3 working, then they all did nothing for a week or two, then zenimax told them to get back to work so they could get rage out
