If they seem ok, Samsung probably won't be selling them at the premium they were at launch so I may get it for my wife
October 2016: "Samsung will 'dispose of' recalled Note 7 phones, won't repair or refurbish them"
http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreak...ote-7-disposal
Then they received all of them, looked down from a high place at the mountain of disabled phones and could not bring themselves to the point of digital genocide.
Sure, the value of all of that rare metal might be alright but no way to get a return on investment. This decision might have been driven by financial and reputation "we CAN do it right though!" reasons.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that they will get this right .... for these re-released versions to go wrong would be an epic PR disaster. I'm in all favour of these not going to landfill and if I can get one to the UK for a good price I'd be tempted.
After all not bet smartphone. If it will cost half price I think about it.
nokia 3310 is out soon tho
I'd buy one if I had the cash.
Would not buy.
SamMobile says the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 R will be available from June. Price will be about a third off the original retail. "around 700,000 won ($620), approximately 300,000 won ($266) less than the original Galaxy Note 7".
Hopefully the price will drop further rather sharpish, as we might have expected the Note7 to be selling at such a discount already so many months after its launch.
