I think the 1700X is going to be the one for me. I want top of the range, but I don't think I need the 1800X

8 cores and 16 threads for less than £400....please be true!
Depending what the reviews are like I am very tempted with 1700X and probably pair it with a Noctua NH-D15, although could be tempted with a Corsair H100 or H110 but then I'd need to buy another case to fit it in.
Hopefully UK prices won't be too far away from the GBP equivalent.
I'm expecting 1700x around £350 and 1800x around £450 (inc vat)
Maybe £20-40 more the first few weeks (or from gouging retailers)

That's .... optimistic. The $399/$499 prices will be excluding sales taxes, so once you add on 20% VAT & convert (using today's mid market rate of ~ 1.24$:£) you're already at ~ £385/£480. I'll be absolutely staggered if they don't land with UK RRPs of £399 and £499 including VAT.
I just have a feeling they may give retailers more wiggle room.
and ocuk have 1800x for 488.and 1700x at 389..just within my prediction

Looking forward to seeing what bundles with MOBO's come out to. Microcenter? I'm looking at you...
You were pretty close to the Amazon pre-order pricing of £320, £390, £490
Straight in to the top three best selling CPUs: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Seller...ters/430515031
Yes, I'm more slightly off-balance than staggered Rather pleased that they've not been rounded up to the nearest hundred. And £320 for the 1700 looks a great price for anyone who does heavily-threaded workloads: if you're not fussed about overclocking you can get A320 boards with PCIe NVME slots for well under £80, which would make a very appealing subsystem...
EDIT: and of course since these don't have an IGP there'll suddenly be a market for entry level GPUs for people who need CPU grunt but don't game - wonder if we'll start to see the R 420 - 450 line up filling out (rebadged Oland parts maybe?)
