Time to begin the search for an enthusiast AM4 motherboard that isn't horrendously gaudy.
Scan seem to offer a board that Gigabyte don't know about - the X370 chipset gaming-K3:

I'll be more interested in seeing a cheaper X370 board without dual slots for CrossFire/SLI or a B350 board without the APU-intended DVI-D/D-SUB/DP/HDMI outputs that take up space on the back that would otherwise be used for USB or other outputs.
In other words, it feels like there's a middle-ground missing from the currently line-up. The X370 boards are catering to the highest-end enthusiasts but the B350 boards are clearly designed with future APUs in mind. I hope that companies remember the segment of gamers who simply do not intend to use two graphics cards.
In any event, I'll be waiting longer still currently until I can take the plunge, so hopefully this issue will be addressed in the coming months. (Summer would probably be ideal.)
Probably a stupid question, but why the 2x audio chips?

Also K5 on Scan but not on Gigabyte's site - Gigabyte AMD Ryzen AM4 AX370 GAMING K5 ATX Motherboard

The gaming-5 is in the link at the top of this page and Gigabyte's website (http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/...NG-5-rev-10#kf), but interesting that Scan have both the X370 K5 and the Aurora gaming-5 listed - at different price points. Methinks the scan site has (accidentally) bogus products.
The x2 Audio chips provide 120db normally you would use the Back sockets for headphones for the best Quality but now you can use the Front with 120db which provide optimal audio output preventing issues such as low volume and distortion. Also note there are two version of the ALC 1220 a Lite version and the full blown chip i found that on Intel boards

Surely a non-windowed case would be easier to find?
More is gooderer, every audiophile knows that
SNR of 120db? That's at least a decade more than any human can detect, the 'problem' that's being solved here is just like directional HDMI cables.
What does it matter now if men believe or no?

To murmur in pity that my words were true
