Is that a cloud arm and a leg?
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
Yeah but they will probably only cost a lot at first. I love this idea, as long as they are able to recycle, or even better reuse, the sensors.
Of course no way would any data be used by relevant authorities to track ones movements and monitor ones speed, i mean who would be interested in that?
Conspiracy theoriees incoming! Seriously though, looks like an interesting way to make traction control systems even more accurate. I wonder whether they'll do the same for motorcycle tyres.
...and more:
"I have burst!"
"I have a huge amount of wear left, but my manufacturer believes you should replace me now!"
"My battery is nearly flat. Have fun getting to it!"
"I'm being burned on a bonfire, call the poli..."
You could use centrifugal acc to gauge speed, but there'd be no way of working out where you were travelling at that speed. GPS dataloggers for insurance are much too big to fit in a tyre, but there's loads of other nooks and crannies you could hide one in - if the powers that be really wanted to track you they'd just bribe your mechanic to slip one in during your MOT, no way of knowing without tearing apart the car every time you take your eye off it.
