What's the premium on prebuilt vs diy these days?
A dual fan liquid cooler for the 90W CPU, and the stock cooler on the 250W GPU? I bet if you ran it the other way round you'd easily get 10% more in-game performance. Yes, there are no partner cards available, but it's not beyond the wit of man to design a bracket to stick one thing to another thing and for £2.1k it's a disappointment
As someone who has an FE Ti, going with a case that has no sound dampening is a BAD idea. It is the loudest card on memory - I used to have dual 670s, which pushed up the internal temp, which triggered all fans to go on full tilt, this card is louder than ALL of that.
It's a real shame about that case, actually. I'd like to build a new PC within the next year and this case would be a real contender - it's just stunning. But the lack of sound proofing is a complete deal breaker
Aye, and that bloody 3 fan arrangement. Those fans are not the quietest, and under load produce a fair bit of din. I know it's mostly for the RGB element which Noctua don't have, but they really should have gone for Noctua fans. Before I got this sodding FE (honestly I'm replacing it with an aftermarket the first chance I get), my PC was practically silent.
The fan on the card is currently running at..1100RPM, and it is still very noticeable. But you can't turn the fan down lower than that! It's a bloody nightmare
