Re: Samsung preparing 49-inch mega-wide 32:9 curved monitor

At first, looking at this page, I thought the image of the monitor had been stretched. It seems... wrong somehow. I don't have enough periphery for this screen width!

The 44" with 1200p is more attractive. Would be great for many games, such a wide angle of view.

Re: Samsung preparing 49-inch mega-wide 32:9 curved monitor

1080p is a nonono, i had the last ultrawide LG with the 3840x1440, 38", was fantastic with movies but went back to the 4K 32" at the end.
I dont play flight sims though

"a 144Hz refresh rate, along with options for AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-sync" (49in 32:9)
looks good for gaming but 1080p?

Re: Samsung preparing 49-inch mega-wide 32:9 curved monitor

I have no idea why but I want one, well the 44" with 1200p, though if that 49" is as curved as it seems to be, I'd be keen to see one up front.

How many of these would be need to complete a full circle (360 degrees)? How large (diametre and circumference would it be?
Have a 34" widescreen Samsung monitor and its very nice however more often than not the screen real estate is not needed.

I might be tempted to swap out my triple screens for this.... Depending on price of course.

My back of envelope maths says one of these is about 94cm wide, so at a 1.8m radius (The "1800R" in the article) they cover approx 30degrees. That means you'd need 12 of them.
