Some people are noticing issues though after reflashing and people have to be wary if the card used does not have a dual BIOS.

Am i missing something or is this nothing more than a OC via the BIOS, if so why not just OC a 480 to 580 speeds?

It seems that some new power states have been added to the RX500 series so power draw during media playback is significantly lower, although people could manually set lower clockspeeds, etc I suppose.

Oooh... very nice. Might have to look at flashing my R9 380 to something from the 4 series

Doesn't quite work like that, the 380 is a different chip to the 4xx series. The reason this works is because the 580 is essentially just a 480 with increased voltage.
