I have to wonder if this is a play by Intel to attempt to reduce AMD's gain in the CPU market share.

Didnt expect to see tripwire interactive there with them being a small studio but I do love their killing floor games.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (although I forget when or where) in the past that gaming companies are putting less prominence on E3 these days and instead focusing more on events that the general public can also attend, like Gamescom.
