Sounds great, it's extremely infuriating to spend ages on the phone trying to cancel and then eventually they magic a deal that just matches what you were planning to switch to and you realise 30 minutes of your life has gone that you'll never get back.
this certanly would be great news and needed for every other industry 3months ive spent getting away from bt. 40 min hold just to speak to adviser everytime is ridiculous
will they add an option for "make me a decent offer or I'm gone"? Retentions does have some benefit (at times).
Automating the process, with no opportunity to make better offers, is a good thing. If they can make a better offer when someone wants to leave, they can jack up prices for most and give the few that put in the 30 mins on hold a deal closer to the actual cost. With no opportunity to offer better deals, the only way they can stop people switching is by keeping all contracts competitive with their rivals
Seems to work well for Gas&Electricity companies, hope it pans out.
