Nice! This is what I come to tech sites for. Nice article.
Agreed good article however don't you think it's time to update your test platform?
I was thinking why you didn't compare GTX1060 SLI too until I realised the GTX1060 does not support it.
AMD and their high power consumption!!
Lol..when no one can buy a 580, Hexus trolls the people with a Crossfire test.

I'd like to see a 1070 SLI article. to see if it's a more viable upgrade for 1070 owners or to just sell their 1070 and upgrade too a 1080 ti
Ebuyer have had stock over the weekend, sadly you have to pay a arm and a leg for one.
As of this moment :
XFX 580 8GB £369.99 7 Instock http://www.ebuyer.com/788541-xfx-amd...d-rx-580p8dfd6
MSI AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB GAMING X Graphics Card 6 Instock £359.99 http://www.ebuyer.com/792436-msi-amd...80-gaming-x-8g
It's obviously only a matter of time before it stops being worth it, which could then mean a flood of attractively-priced second-hand units.
The question I would have however, is whether it is likely that the mining would have put too much strain on the GPU for it to be worth the risk of buying said second-hand units.
this is a sign of the gamers still in parents basement getting argued at about the electric bill.
