Private equity firms make money by coming in and cutting staff & manufacturing costs.
If I worked for Corsair, I'd be brushing up that CV today, because no one will be safe.
Its not like Corsair have cut manufacturing costs enough already the last few years......
If they do any more cuts, the kits going to fall to bits in days......

omfg buy your corsair products now then sit and watch Rome burn while your warranty period expires.
I really hope this does not mean the 7 year warranty on my SF450 is now going to be cut to something like 2 years,so they can save money.
HEXUS might be optimistic, but I'd be more on the pessimistic side in worrying that things will be cut down (such as the long warranty periods as stated by CAT-THE-FIFTH) to be more profitable for the equity firm, thus shafting customers in the process and damaging Corsair's good reputation.
If they are in talks with a private equity firm to provide finance, the it seems safe to assume that they need the finance anyway, either to expand, or to get out of financial trouble. PE is a source of finance - no more, no less.
A PE company (like any other investor) needs to make a return on their investment and the best way of doing that is to grow the business (the other way is to asset strip, but most companies are better at valuing assets so the price paid actually reflects the true value of the company.
So it may not be doom and gloom when the worst case scenario might have been Corsair going into liquidation and all warranties becoming worthless.
Of course, Im not saying that is the case - just pointing out that this might not be the bad news that some seem to think.

Its not that they will be liquidated but reducing warranties is a way to save money, and I really hope they don't start going back to using crappy caps again(they did it with some of the ranges just like Antec did). With the recent PSUs they seemed to be on a roll regarding performance and construction,so this is why I bought the SF 450W.
Hi All,
Pascal from CORSAIR here, Thought I would come in and lighten the mood in this thread
While I cannot officially comment on reported proceedings I can assure you there is nothing to worry about with warranties etc and CORSAIR is financially healthy And were are here to stay spreading the love of all things RGB!
CAT-THE-FIFTH (19-07-2017),ik9000 (21-07-2017),Nelly. (20-07-2017),Output (19-07-2017),peterb (19-07-2017),Ttaskmaster (26-07-2017)
Err, I might be an outlier, but I'd appreciate more high-end non-RGB products and high-end non-windowed cases...
I love the Carbide Quiet 600Q, more of that please!

2nd the move away from RGB nonsense Bring on the sleek, understated, refined and well designed.
^This. My Corsair LP Vengeance is a dream. I don't need LED twinkles. Though a warning LED that the thing is powered doesn't hurt. And yes, I darn nearly did pull one out before the mobo had properly powered down. Noticed just in the nick of time thanks to cutting my knuckle on the CPU fan. But pulsating rainbow effect? Not going to see it with the stand I keep the tower in.
They've been doing that for years. Review samples and early batches get good caps, half a year on or so they switch to something cheaper with a little design change.
Nothing like seeing nice Japanese caps (NCC and the like) in the review samples and when you actually get the unit it's all Teapo (or worse) everywhere instead...
Wotcha Pascal!
How's Greybeard doing?
Can you chuck some more buttons on the RGB mice, please?
Unlike most on Hexus, I quite like the colour and pattern options RGB offers and am well aware that they can simply be turned off, if needs be.
However, I like lots of buttons!!
