Good riddance! Whilst there was some novelty in making "rich" websites, which they were, it was also infuriating to work with. I broken my keyboard with frustration when working with flash.
Now that HTML, and more importantly, CSS and JS have increased their feature set, Flash is just a video player for porn sites.
I presume this is the flash media player and that the Flash Live Media Encoder will remain?

Good
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I'm glad they gave it a couple of years. Sad in a way to see it go, but it's such a mess of vulnerable versions on people's installs better rid of it I think.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
A good 20 years or so too late. Adobe should have canned this when they purchase Marcromedia imo. Even if that would have meant we never got Weeble & Bob...the internet would have been better off as a whole without it.
Just been playing with an open source equivalent to FLME - Open Broadcast Studio https://obsproject.com - Open source and multi-platform!

I just streamed an HD video up to youtube without any problems - it has a studio mode to so it can act as a very simple switcher. Seems good. I discovered a friend has used it for live streaming to youtube in HD taking the output from a Newtek 8000. (which itself was streaming to a different CDN)

People hating on flash should remember without it we wouldn't have had many things like youtube.
No one remember the days of realplayer/quicktime/cuseeme/nv and a million different plugins ?
- flash replaced them all with better cross browser/os/platform compatibility.
but flash has also always been more just than video,
It has been too full of security holes, which they could have handled better.
HTML5 ? Doesn't do everything flash does or has done for years, even now not as easy or efficient.
Yes HTML5 will replace it, but just making the point people having been moaning about flash for years without there being a simple drop in replacement/alternative.

We do remember the other options and how much better than flash many of them were! Flash was always a nightmare to use and was a complete system hog. It would frequently kill my system when loading up websites full of flash adverts. Flash video players varied so much in quality and again on system load..the number of times you'd try and watch a flash video and then have to turn up the volume as the simple act of having flash on a page caused your fans to go full speed, for example.
I was always much happier with Realplayer or QT plugins as they just..worked. Plus you generally had to enable them on the page rather than flash just auto running and causing problems. Microsoft tried to come to the rescue in 2007 with silverlight but sadly it never took off
