damn that's ugly...looks like something I've knocked up in my shed
It looks like a shroud they have knocked up to hide the actual card.
I can see the minimalist look they're going for in order to differentiate from the extrovert appearance of the Nvidia Founder's cards but they've not exactly got the Apple-esque stylist minimalism down have they? I hope that these are just reference boards and purely there to show watercooling is an option. That it's a stock option actually is a huge negative for me. I want a card that, as stock, runs as cool and low power as possible to maximise headroom for overclocking. Watercooling a reference board from the factory shouldn't even enter into the equation or be even slightly necessary. That they're demoing this as a stock option suggesting that it may be required for a decent overclock is concerning. Is this a result of the GPU itself or just very crappy power regulation circuitry / components getting toasty under any kind of load? Or is it a marketing gimmick? If it's a gimmick then it may attract some people but those who actually stop to consider this will be thinking twice about purchasing a card such as this for overclocking.

If rumors are correct it won't be a free watercooler, it will cost an extra $100.
They really need to add more angles and screws. Naturally a plastic window so you can see the dusty heatsink is essential. To take another cue from Nvidia, they should put 'Veg' on it, after my favourite graphics card the Titan X(p).
Agreed. Not a fan of the look. I'm surprised they are moving away from their black and red combo.
It would have looked super sexy if they had done it in a brushed black anodised finish. Still I don't have a window in my PC case, so I don't care
not black enough.
Hate the looks of it as peole have said above, aftermarket models tho will fix this.
Before we criticise the looks, surely whether the cooler is any good is more important??

correct me if im wrong guys but linus had the first unveiling of this GPU and this is the Limited Edition Shroud and not the standard reference one.

Quite like the brushed aluminium, just wondering how it might not fit in with themed builds?
I realise this is just a very raw design that hasn't quite pulled off the brutalist aesthetic but if NVidia and AMD both offered a "plain" version of their cards - simple case, no frills, basic packaging - for a cheaper price, I'd happily have chosen that over any more expensive 3rd party offering. I've never bothered with window cases and couldn't give a damn about the appearance of the inside of the box, and I'm sure a lot of people must feel the same way. Sure, some of the cards I've owned looked pretty spectacular given that they're just cards, but the only times I appreciated the looks of them was when I was plugging them in or taking them out.
