Windows Did It!
The problem is the scanner is much slower than a finger one a sensor which also acts as the power button. We are only talking 1.5 seconds here, but compared to something that 'feels' instant, it's a very noticeable lag.
However Windows Hello is fricken awesome, and we've switched our office machines to using it, as soon as someone goes away, machine locks, as soon as they sit down and look at their monitor, machine unlocks. Glad to see Apple catching up.

If that is an accurate depiction of the front then Essential's PH-1 (a start up!) have completely shown up Apple in how to add minimise the protrusion. That's hideous.
Can someone explain whats the point of two cameras that are next to each other?! Other than to increase price.
Never seen as many leaks as this year, for the fast few weeks now we've seen pretty much everything about the phones (especially the X) from full specifications to spot on designs (with mockups and CGI).
The X is a huge leap forward for Apple, lets just hope that tomorrow evening they've managed to keep a surprise or two under their hats.
The assumption is that they will function similarly to the cameras on the current iPhone 7+. Although you can imagine it will be improved.

I liked the iPhone 7+ camera position better.
I don't really mind, but I'm sure Apple had a good reason for changing their previous design. Perhaps down to internal space and making best use of that available. With this phone having more packed into a smaller design than the 7+ there are bound to be compromises.
One is wide angle, the other telephoto, so there is effectively a 2x optical zoom. The 7 only has the wide angle with the digital zoom, the &+ has the additional telephoto camera. I assume it will be a similar arrangement on the new iphone.
