The Echo Plus looking interesting because it means I might be able to ditch several hubs. Only concern is how the out of the house functionality of these might work if I ditch them...

I like these smart devices but for me I want to know how secure they are. Are these encrypted because with all the other IOT devices security is lacking and anyone with the know how could easily snoop in and be listening on what your saying to these devices.
