Despite AMD building an SoC that can run without a supporting chipset (under the A300/X300 branding), meaning that you don't actually *have* to cram any additional components on the board?“Mini-ITX boards are among the most difficult to produce,”
*sigh*
I get that some people want bells and whistles SFF boards, but it's getting depressing that we haven't seen a single board making use of the fact that chipsets are optional for Ryzen....
The WiFi and Audio (assuming it's any good - any information about it?) and GigE (why didn't AMD expose that from the Ryzen die?) are nice to haves of course.
Shame there's no USB Type C ports, especially with the gap on the rear I/O area.
And what, no DB25 Serial!
No video outputs, so you can't use the IGP if you put an APU in one of these.
No IGP and I suspect silly prices.
Would like to upgrade my AM1 system at some stage *sigh*

These are from ASUS Republic of Gamers brand - they're obviously targeted at people wanting to build a SFF gaming PC with dGPU. I'm kind of hoping that A300/X300 boards will appear alongside Raven Ridge APUs, although given the range of good value BR APUs already available it's disappointing that we've not seen any yet...
USB2 for front panels, no USB3, has to be a typo ?
First board that may actually want me to switch to Ryzen...
Sorry, didn't see one was B350. Yeah that sucks a lot!
You underestimate the amount of "E-PEEN" enthusiasts on forums have.
They make a lot of noise about useful features nobody really needs and companies then cater to them, meaning all of us then pay extra for it too!
I mean people apparently will even upgrade a decent CPU or card just because the new one does 180FPS instead of 150FPS. Reason - "bottleneck",and then harp on how slow something older is "slow" in cases where clearly the engine is very well optimised.
Edit!!
I think you need to understand SJ we tend to be more focused on functionality and RL performance, but sadly its become more a case of one-upmanship with a lot of these things.
This is why all this bling is added since it out-blings and out-specs the competition.
Basically its spec and graph wars now.

These are far from the first itx am4 boards anyway, there are 2 B350 and 2 x370 in stock on CCL - https://www.cclonline.com/category/4...-socket-boards
