Baking it into the OS is a great idea as long as it doesn't negatively impact the system. It's a shame it's UWP only and not for all Apps. If Trueplay was available for all you may actually be able to play Tom Clancys Division without cheaters!
Hopefully it fixes more issues than it creates!
Not that I expect much to use it....UWP only lol

If its UWP its probably dead in the water. Has anyone bought a UWP game? I don't know a single gamer who has...
I have but only because its that or an XBox for MS exclusives.
Got Forza Apex (F2P), Forza Horizons 3 (Xmas sale) and GOW4 (free from Hexus )....currently waiting for a sale on Forza 7.....
Prices are absurd (hence sales and freebies), the only thing I have found to be a bonus was the groove playlist support for the Forza radios and I wonder about that feature now that MS have killed groove....

If its from the Windows store it is...
FH3 is the only one that has even remotely tempted me and then only for the hotwheels track DLC. I'm not buying it at £40 + £20 for the DLC - I think Microsoft have forgotten to price PC games as PC games.
It is a great idea... but I think this will be a new beginning. More and more cheaters are being exposed as the bigger eSports as a whole gets.
Maybe Steam/MS will liase with one another and meet halfway to introduce something to reduce cheating.
Maybe... who knows... theres always room for improvement.
would be good if it gets adopted by more services though, then it needs a 3 strikes and your banned for a year or so.
As the only UWP game I own is Gears of War 4 because it came with my GPU and I don't even play it due to how god awfully dated the hoard style cover shooting gameplay is... then it's just another pointless gimmick for me and I wish they would just kill off UWP already, UWP is the only reason I have never bothered to buy any Forza games on the PC.
Hell at one point I didn't even like steam, but I've grown to tolerate that because of the excellent value for money you can get on discounted games through it, the same can't be said with the Microsoft store in the slightest.
I have the opposite opinion. Baking everything into the OS is inevitably going to impact the OS. Majority of PCs will never be used to play a game, so why are TruePlay and Xbox installed, and why are they not easily removable? I've got no problems with these features, if they are optional. Same with Cortana and that Mixed Reality Portal that is probably useful for a sum of 2 people. Both of which probably MS employees.
