Hmmm. I have a five/six year old Galaxy S2 that has an OLED screen (AMOLED). That's still in use daily though only as a sat nav, and there's no burn-in evident at all. Lovely screen still.
Google used LG OLED smartphone displays which was their mistake, LG's mobile OLED is terrible and vastly inferior to Samsungs mobile OLED.
They probably thought that with LG's OLED TV's being so popular that it might be a good idea to use them and of course found out the hard way that the mobile version isn't in the same ball park at all.
LG's mobile OLED isn't fit for market.
My Pixel 2 XL isn't due until 14th of November. People seem to be reporting that the replacement devices do not have the issue and I hope it remains that way. I still have some time to cancel and order pixel 2 instead but i would prefer to stay with the 2 xl but the issues are putting me off.
Wait, wut?? It only had a year warranty worldwide in the first place??
I was surprised to find that Samsung give a 2 year warranty on phones.
Here is a list of warranties:

Wow,Motorola and Apple only give one year warranties worldwide(although the two year warranty for the iPhone battery is at least something I suppose).
I can't understand for such expensive items, they can't give longer warranties on the physical hardware,as its less than the standard contract length.
ok so thats why my bluetooth headset has been clicking every 10-30 seconds lol
i agree on the 1 year warranty that is not long enough as most contracts are 24 months,, i did just get the Pixel 2 128GB on 12 month on EE business (was only £50 more one off payment over the 64GB version) 16GB monthly data is enough as i have 3 AYCE sim only on another phone with 30GB tethering allowance
one slightly annoying thing is the pixel 2 (which i assume is a feature of android 8.0) is it marked my other phone wifi hotspot as metered connection which prevented me from setting the phone up for 1-2 hours until i seen the restriction metered connection page wifi and drop down menu and removed it as i could not install any apps over wifi and it would not let me used mobile data for some reason (be nice if it had Asked to use it as metered when it detected it as a hotspot)
