    Love it!

Also so glad they finally added a PSU basement... something lacking in the 900

I quite like the look of that case; it is solid and mean looking. The only major downside to me is the very high price.

Thats a pretty pricey case, I have the silentbase and build quality is excellent but I do think the price is a little high for that particular model.

I have to say I'm a big fan of modular cases and this one looks very sleek.

I'm one of 'those people' who actually need an inverted PC case, since my system unit can only go on the left side of my desk against a wall. I think this might be my next case

Gets even more expensive when you consider it's another £40 for 2 more silent wings 3 fans to get the thermal performance up to par. At that price at least 1 more should be included.

I'd honestly never thought of how many people must be afflicted by this limitation!

Re: be quiet! Dark Base 700

Inverted layout is great. It's easier to support graphics cards (as you're supporting the flat side, rather than the side with the spinny bits), and easier to support the CPU cooler (with no graphics card in the way, and it's now much closer to the bottom PCB edge). Only annoyance is the writing on the side of GPU's is upside down, and those are normally backlit these days so harder to ignore. There might be a small benefit from the heat from the GPU no longer rising to the (much lower wattage) CPU, but with the amount of forced airflow available in cases these days that's probably negligible.

I tend to be a fan of the subtle cases, so in that situation I would likely opt for a solid side panel case with both panels identical.
But if I ever had the opportunity to build something that actually looks good on the inside, then I might want to show it off.

I wonder if there is a new Dark Base Pro 900 coming soon?

For me it's not just about aesthetics - a side window can actually be quite useful. I recently had a graphics card partially fail, with one of the fans no longer spinning. It didn't seem to affect the effectiveness of the cooler & the card continued to function, but had I not had a clear side panel, it might have been months or years before I realised anything was wrong.

Re: be quiet! Dark Base 700

Built a new pc using the Fractal Design Define R5 Case, I7-8700K,, corsair memory, coolermaster 212 EVO , M2 drives and one sata 6tb for storage, This is the absolute quietest unit i have ever come across and yet with two input 140 mm fans and one exhaust it keeps that temps down nicely. The corsair Hx-750 power supply is mounted with the fan down.
This case is really easy to work with and around, plenty of room for cables , 8 drives + 2 x 5/14 slots and space for 2 SSD drives on the side or you can remove the cage for better airflow.

My previous favorite - Corsair Obsidian 600 is also a mid-tower with tons of space and I have our 2nd pc in that. IT's not as quiet but inside it is huge as well.

    Both are very well built.

So between the two, who do you thinks makes better cases - Fractal or BeQuiet?

I mean overall, noise, temps, build quality and price.
