Leaving former loyal customers in the lurch like that isn't particularly nice. Isn't a reason why the new software can't support older devices still working on Synapse 2.

I'm really not sure about Razer. My keyboard is made by them and it's a fantastic bit of hardware but that's ultimately because they have chosen good off the self components (their newer ones do apparently use their own keys but they're probably made by an experienced manufacturer to their specs) and put them together well. The firmware and software are both awful and these are the parts they'll have made from scratch themselves. It took months for me to get this thing working properly and it seems to be a common issue. I certainly won't write the brand off but I won't be rushing out to buy their kit.

Razer's hardware strikes a lot of the right notes and Basilisk is also one of the company's first mice to take advantage of the Synapse 3 software utility currently in beta...

...We're told that support for older keyboard and mice is being added where feasible, but if you're rocking multiple Razer devices there's a good chance you'll have to juggle Synapse 2 and Synapse 3 on the same system.
The new software isn't finalised yet, so things should improve in future. Depends on how many older devices they consider "feasible" to support, of course

Looks like Razer stole a design engineer from Logitech. I approve.

Anything razer I have owned has been starting to break into pieces and receive flaws of use after 3-4 months, so not untill they can provide actual quality will I ever buy their products again.

The only Razer product I have is the NAGA Molten mouse. Been using it for about 4 years. Still works perfectly. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

My theory is that razer stuff comes in two flavours: old stuff, that dates back to when they made stuff properly (so it still works); and new stuff that they cheaped out on (that dies after a few months)

    Re: Razer Basilisk

Is this a revision of an old model, or a brand new one.
I ask, because a friend already has one that I recently tried. Wasn't especially amazing or anything, although the clutch was OK, but pretty useless as a Fingertip Grip mouse...
