This would really be improved by a ryzen APU. Quad core & vega graphics in 15W, so better in every way

I bought the missus the Lenovo 320S for £480 which is definitely a better buy than this. Quad core i5 8250U that's got nearly twice the grunt of this, smaller footprint, no discrete GPU but as the review says, it's basically pointless. Has USB C as well. Same RAM, but smaller SSD. Also, there's a HP Laptop available for £20 less that has the exact same specs as this except for the 8th gen i7 >https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/14-...h-code-2888823 Blows this out of the water. This is a terrible deal.
I concur with the other commenters. £620 for those specs is horrid. The catch is basically the poor specs.
The U-series CPUs and their accompanying chipsets only have a single channel memory controller. RAM on such systems will always be single channel even if the system contains two modules. This system has some shortcomings but that is not one of them; it's on a par with the competition in that regard.
That's completely incorrect, the intel 7200U supports dual channel ram and other laptops with the same processor have twice the memory bandwidth
