I feel safer already.
Would have been nicer to lock the stable door before the horse has bolted......no I'm not buying a new "fixed" CPU....

WHAT AN ADVERT! So this is simply 'Open CL' in disguise? and why cant Microsoft use any other Open-CL supported hardware from AMD and Nvidia.

Intel could have done with giving out a more useful statement, there's nothing interesting to be gained from this. It shouldn't surprise anyone that offloading a task from the CPU means less CPU load; what's interesting is if that comes with improvements in speed, power efficiency, or system responsiveness. Less CPU load could be a good thing if the CPU is at 100% utilisation already, but that's rare for typical consumer use. System responsiveness could be improved, unless this task fills the GPU and gets in the way of the microsoft fancy translucent GUI rendering. In early benchmarks on Intel test systems show CPU utilisation dropped from 20 per cent to as little as 2 per cent.
