All nice outside the curve, which is probably fine for most stuff, but kind of does not help with image editing!

You may want an IPS monitor for image editing anyway...

AOC are really coming into their own as of late, I will definitely be at least keeping an eye on their products, I am not interested in a curved screen however.

VA type panels are still capable enough(a good VA would be preferable over a poor IPS panel for example),but the distortion of a curved monitor is not really great for image editing.

I think the budget monitors AOC have been pushing out have been impressive for the money. The AOC G2260VWQ6 is surprising good as a cheap gaming monitor, and the AOC Q3279VWF is pretty impressive for the money. I think they are fast becoming the Huawei/Xiaomi of the monitor world!

Can the best AMD GPU's run games at 2560x1440 and 144 Hz?

    Just asking.

Probably not consistently. But that is the point of Free/GSync, you get the best response time and refresh rate you can at any given moment with a high resolution. It's unlikely any nvidia card can guarantee to never drop below 144 fps in a modern game either.

Aren't va panels a vast amount better than ips ? I thought that was the consensus...

AFAIK,VA do deeper blacks but IPS panels have better viewing angles and less colour shifts.

Fair enough but I think the differences in viewing angles and colour shifts are always overblown, as the consumer is going to be looking at these monitors dead on.

Yeah,I suppose you have a point there,as many of the very photo centric monitors can have a hood attached to them, which kind of forces you to look straight on at the monitor.

Curved monitors and TVs are a gimmick, and I feel the same goes for HDR, just the latest gimmick to get people to buy new monitors. Personally, I won't be jumping on that bandwagon. Only thing that can make me upgrade is higher resolution and refresh rate monitors having smaller bezels, (like this monitor, kudos AOC) and a drop in price so they're more affordable, till then, I'll stick to my 1080P 60Hz monitors.

Yep. In a modern graphically demanding game even a 1080ti won't do 144Hz at 1440p with all the eye candy on, so V64 not managing it isn't an issue, and in older games they'll easily be able to hit that
