Since when is the "camera notch" a feature? Kludge would be the better term.
TBH, this new "notch craze" begs the question: Who is the greater fool? The fool or the one following him. (to paraphrase Obi Wan)
I'm not a fan of the notch, either. I've got an LG V20, and a V10. I love the "2nd screen," option - it's the most convenient feature I think I've had in a phone in years. I'm sad LG hasn't continued to put that into their designs.
NOOOO!
For christs sake, screw the notch, it's ugly and stupid.
I really wanted the LG G7 now I am finding it really hard to endorse such a stupid idea.
I am waiting for the Gillette smartphone - the best a man can get.
Stupid notch... Whatever happened to differentiation of your product. One manufacture does it they all do it. No one stops to ask if they should. Just make the bezel small but with enough for the speaker, camera etc. Nicer design and no awkward screen space.
The notification bar was always awkward screen space (what with the middle of it rarely used), adding a notch just means they can get video as large as possible on the device while still always showing the important bits of the notification bar
It will bootloop after six months anyway...
To be fair the the G6 & V30 were both vastly underrated phones of last year. Still miss my G6 and and still use a V30 as my daily driver so really looking forward to trying out the G7. Hope they haven't ruined the form factor too much as the G6 was pretty much perfect imho. Finally, the only thing that lets down LG's proposition is that lack of updates, my V30 only got it's Oreo update last week and the G6 is still waiting. Monthly security patching is just a pipe dream, unlike Google, Nokia, One+, & Essential. However LG state they are investing in side of things with a new software centre so we'll wait & see, till then the jury is out.
The notch is meh but it can be hidden in software so it's no biggy.
Being an owner of a G3 and G5. I can say the G5 was their last good phone. It has modular and expandable features. Couldnt ask for more. The problem is they then ditched both those features and killed the G series. Now the phone is indistinguishable from other brands who do it better for similar pricing.
