The slowing down of mining sales already having an effect!!
Friends don't let friends buy phones with holes in the screen!
Another awful looking modern phone, shock horror. Got to be nearly time for this fad to be over, right?
upgrading s6? What for?
It was simply wearing out. The charging port had become unreliable and battery life was noticeably degraded.
Additionally, the S6 was removed from Samsung's update support schedule back in April.
how good is asus with software updates? Can we expect at least security updates for next 2 years?
God these notches. Loathe indeed. Plagiarism just for its own sake... disaster
Absolutely. I think those who have retained the notch and have the notifications either side on a black (ideally OLED) background have got it as right as it can be. I personally prefer my S8's layout but I was happy with my HTC M7 and M9 with giant speakers. I still think that this obsession with making the screen take over the absolute maximum area of the front and then making the device as thing as possible is just madness. It increases accidental taps (especially with the edge screen) and makes the damned thing so fragile. I want to see bigger batteries that will last a day and a 1/4 during summer (where the screen has to be brighter) and therefore after a year it might have a chance of lasting the day. 4000mAH batteries are where it is at. Whilst my phone is very nice to hold as it's like a slim slab of glass that can access the entirity of mankinds knowledge, it spends 99% of the time in a case due to the fragility which makes it bigger and clumsy. So really, given everyone has to use a damned case, you might as well just make it bigger and more robust to start with.
Oh wait, that won't appeal to the only people who will use it properly for a week or two sans case and can make or break a phone's success.... journalists. It's all marketing and sod the end user, right down to making them fragile but pretty. HTC used to make robust, metal phones which looked the part. Now they two have jumped on the bandwagon and make phones which are so pretty they are practically art but as soon as you touch it, you cover it in grease and if you put it in a case there was no point in buying the pretty phone in the first place. Oh and try dropping one of those without your wallet just shouting "that's it, I give up, you're on your own" and sodding off to the nearest Futurama esque suicide booth.
